PIX scams are becoming increasingly common, but do you know what to do if you become a victim?

Here are 3 essential steps to try to recover your money:

1. Notify your bank immediately

As soon as you realize the scam, contact your financial institution. They can guide you on the procedures and, in some cases, block the transaction.

2. File a Police Report

It is essential to officially document what happened. Go to the nearest police station or file a police report online.

3. Use the MED (Special Refund Mechanism)

The Central Bank created the MED for cases of fraud involving PIX. Inform your bank about the fraud and request the application of the mechanism to try to recover the amount. If you encounter difficulties in this process, seek legal advice to understand your rights and take appropriate action.
